One Afternoon at Pike Place
We had just a few hours to explore Seattle's famous market. I brought along one camera and lens: my Sony a7CR with an adapted Leica 35mm Summilux. I was itching to do some street photography in the crowded market environment, but first we had to get there.
I snagged this first photo on the walk from our bus stop to the market. I definitely cropped this one in, but I really like how the lines of the building contrast with the bird.

Pike Place has lots of flowers as well as fish vendors, but you can also get your normal supermarket amenities. The mix of tourist attractions and everyday shopping creates a unique energy that makes it such a compelling place to photograph.

From Pike Place, the Seattle skyline is pretty incredible.

Pike Place is interesting because it's an open market but also has a sublevel where I found a bunch of interesting shots.

We had to get a bite to eat, and of course I wanted a salmon sandwich. This is really close to the gum wall and other famous spots in Seattle.

The city also recently invested something like $70 million to build new public infrastructure between Pike Place and the waterfront.
